 Smart dealers recommend using premium (91 octane or better) gas in your new Smart car. But others say it's not mandatory and does not void your warranty. However, using premium gas is better on your cars motor and in the end more efficient. According to sources with the engines high compression ratio, premium fuel with
higher octane levels burns more economically and the MPG would improve
approximately 2 MPG.

 In 2005 a Sydney, Australian company called KahDo had the idea to leases Smart cars very inexpensively, for around $42 a week, for drivers who would drive Smart cars wrapped in advertising. KahDo offers drivers a Smart car at a fraction of the typical cost. The cost of the vehicle is sponsored by advertising displayed on the body of the car. When KahDo launched their idea the company received 10,000 requests
for the first 100 Smart cars. Clearly, twho gets to drive a
KahDo vehicle could been a problem.

At the time, we believed this car could be part of the solution to what we believed was ahead of us all - $4.00-a-gallon gas.

Several years ago the Tom Tailor clothing company dressed out a special edition Smart Fortwo Cabriolet for the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI charity. The car was a Smart Fortwo Cabriolet, came with a 101HP engine and was auctioned off on EBay. It had special paint and gold leaf.
