For years “Special Edition Cars” have been available for our driving pleasures. Special edition products are used to motivate us to buy a variety of goods. In 1999 smart GmbH created the first MCC Smart Limited edition Smart car. Now for 2008 they have created the Smart “Edition Limited One”

Both the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and our National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have given the Smart a good score. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a private group funded by insurance companies, gave top marks to the Smart in their crash tests, and our National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the cars a four-star rating for front impact crashes on the driver's side, three stars for passenger safety, and five stars for protecting occupants during lateral collisions.

Currently 69 official smart centers have opened their doors in 31 states and are closing in on the 10,000 Smart unit’s sales mark. To date 8,854 Smart Cars have been sold. The Smart is appealing to a tremendous number of U.S. buyers. No big surprise to Smart Car of America.

 The exhibition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum: "smart story" shows the history of the brand – including the new smart fortwo. Not yet at dealerships and already a museum exhibit - those who would like to see the new Smart Fortwo before it is launched in April 2007 now have an opportunity to do so.

The manufacturer of the Smart Car is one of the first global car companies to confront the environmental footprint problem for their cars head-on. So, if you're serious about rallying round the environment, this clever vehicle is a wise choice. The all-new 2008 Smart was introduced in Europe just over a year ago and sales have been remarkably robust here and elsewhere. Deliveries of the new Smart have nearly doubled, with 13,600 vehicles being sold compared to the same month (6,900 cars) last year.
