If they could fit a six cylinder engine in this motorcycle, could it fit into a Smart Fortwo? If it could fit, imagine the faces of people when one tells them it has a six cylinder engine in it?

Here are a couple of pictures of the Header that I have been running for the last 3 months.

My biggest struggle has been figuring out how to get it quiet.

I started using one of the Magnaflow muffs from one of my other exhausts....It was only loud when you stepped on the gas

Then I made one from scratch, Better but still did not pass the Wife test.

Now I am running a single quiet pack. all you Bug Guys will know what it is.

The performance is great! the car keeps pulling harder all the way to the redline.

OK guys I will updated this on a day to day basis. As many of you know I will not spend the money on these over priced parts that the vendors are selling here in the US. So I took matters into my own hands and started building my very own turbo kit. First off went with a smaller turbo to recieve instant boost (spool). The exhaust side is getting mocked up tomorrow pics will follow. Also this is going to be a water to air intercooled kit :D with nitrous to cool the turbo even more!!!! Hope everyone is ready for Jan. 30th in Orlando I know I will be.
Turbo (notice Mitz emblem to match the motor in the car)

I searched and found one topic about the subject. If i were to run a fused switch that interrupted power to fuse 11 (i read that that fuse was the ESM fuse), would it disable my abs? also, i was wondering if i could turn it on and off while driving, or if i had to turn the car off and back on every time. I'm assuming it would throw a check engine light as well, could they use that as evidence to void my warranty?

i love the car, but sometimes i think the system is too sensitive. Plus i plan on taking the car to autocross at some point, and i dont want to have that system affecting my acceleration out of turns... any help is appreciated.

Want to take the decorative end cap off the wiper stalk and put it on the new stalk but can't figure out how to get the piece off without damaging the piece or the stalk. I know others have taken this piece off, any tips you can give. Also... the instructions for operating the cruise control (on, off, set, resume, seem like Greek to me) advice in this area would also be welcome. Thanks

I love a good challenge so here is my deal. I would like to purchase complete drivetrain and associated components (451). I want to examine engine components, clutch and trans and determine where we can greatly improve performance. This will not be for the MPG enthusiates but for the tire smokin' Tim the Tool Man kind of guy.I don't know if this engine has other applications but any input will be usefull. Are there aftermarket parts allready available, cams, cylinder heads, stroker kits, larger throttle body and manifold, etc. This will be a project that will take considerable time and effort and expertise from many individuals. Not looking at forced induction or spray, just solid power from a naturally aspirated EFI engine.
The clutch and tranny definitely needs some attention but not sure which way to go on that yet, but no open chain drives in mind.
As I get into this I will post my observations and ideas, anyone will be able to add there thoughts pos. or neg. and it will be a majority win approach to the solutions. Just maybe SCOA gearheads can invent the micro musclecar, S__________?

...but I havent dealt with modifying cars in about ten years. I live in PA now and with inspections and emissions and the ever revolving set of rules, I stopped caring and moved full time into motorcycles. Simple, easy, and nobody messes with ya.

Now, I noticed everyone just bolting on cold air systems and exhausts, but no one has mentioned anything about fueling, ie programmers. I know from bikes, you change the exhaust, or more importantly, the intake, you have to adjust adjust for the lean condition that will ultimately follow.

So, my question is this, are the FI systems on these cars kinda like the old 5.0 mustangs (sorry, I know it goes back aways, but thats where I left off) fitted with the Mass Air Flow systems? With the MAF, you could get away with bolting on (to a certain point) items and the computer could compensate (again, to a point).

I just want to cover my bases, cause first and formost, this car is to be my daily transportation. Thanks...

Hi everyone,
There has been so much talk about intake systems lately that I decided maybe I should have a dog in this fight:)

This is what I have come up with, all of the materials are stainless steel so they will never rust, it has a true K&N filter. The coolest part about it is the filter housing fits around the original smart car cold air intake ducting ensuring the filter is getting the absolute coolest air at all times.
I can sell these systems for $160.00
Comments? suggestions?
