Does anyone know how to deactivate the seatbelt and/or door warning buzzers? The wires look all taped up under the seat and I'm not about to start wiring things together unless I properly know what to do (later Smarts have a simple connector plug that you can wire to itself). I would also be satisfied if I could find the speaker under the dash, I can't seem to find it but sometimes I want to jam a screwdriver through it (or just disconnect it).

Disclaimer: I drive with my seatbelt 100% of the time, so no advice about seatbelt wearing, please. I often have to leave my car while it's running (I am forgetful), and it's awful for my passenger(s) when the buzzer is going off. I usually click the seatbelt when I leave, but I'd rather just kill the buzzer. I don't need it to remind me about seatbelts and doors, I have eyes for that. And I also realize that most states (mine included) will fail a car at inspection if it does not have a seatbelt buzzer.

I've never liked how Smarts have one back up light and one rear fog. I'd prefer 2 reverse lights. My idea is to get a UK market tail light (their back-up light is on the left and fog on right) for the left hand side, and install it in my car and run a wire linking the two back-up lights together. Feed the wire through the body work or something. Will it work? Evilution.co.uk has a rear light wire chart outlining wire colors. Then how about using the rear fog position on the light stalk for a set of aftermarket front fogs?

Morning All

About a month ago a strange noise came from my front passengers side wheel, it sounded like I hadn’t driven the car for a week and there was rust on the disks and the sound that it makes when stepping on the breaks, except it was 3 times louder.

This noise was there for 30 seconds then went away until yesterday. This noise came back with a vengeance (sounding like something is rubbing the break disk), tone didn’t change when applying the breaks, tone didn’t change with a hard left or right turn, yet the tone did change a bit when hitting a bump.

I concluded there must be something actually rubbing on the disk, and there was,

A good size rock was atop my caliper resting there and rubbing the outer edge of my disk, I for the life of me can’t figure out how that rock could get there but there it was.

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else or if it will ever happen again but the position of the caliper in reference to the disk makes for a nice “V” slot for something to settle in.

I figured I record this in the odd chance it might happen to someone else
