Largest Car Show On The East Coast

Hey Guys. Just wanted to post this under the Connecticut chapter for now, but it applies to everybody around the area that would like to make a little trip to an awesome event. This is a car show that is known by many to be one of the largest car shows on the East Coast. There are a minimum of 1k cars there, a portable dyno, a helicopter that flies in, concessions, etc. I hope we can get more than one smart car like last year in the show. If you all are interested, here is what is going on:

"The Pyramid Shriners Car Club Car Shows not only feature cars and trucks, but we also try to feature other attractions for participants and spectator entertainment. In the past we have featured Monster Trucks, Funny Cars, Drag Racers, Vehicle Dynamometer, and big name celebrities. For the 2007 Car Show, Dennis Gage of Speed Channel’s “My Classic Car” featured our event on his television show. The club drew over 1400 cars for the 2007 show."

Let me just say that sadly, this will be the last of this show unless another sponsor picks it up. It is this Sunday so if you are planning to go, please write to me or respond and we can caravan in. I already have a group going (not smart car owners) of a meetup place before the start of the show so we can caravan in together.

Hope those that read this can make it. It is really a fun show and I'm putting my car up on the dyno! I'll post a video when the show is over.

The wife and I might go for the ride Sunday, (depends on how she feels).
If we go I'll take the ferry over to Bridgeport and see you there.

That will be awesome! Can't wait to see you! You can be the first asylum member to meet Butch (I'm sure you heard of me talk about him and saw him on my videos). I can finally meet an active asylum member (I did meet gadgetgirl, but she isn't really that active).

I called the head judge and he said the class the smarts will be in is Miscellaneous Z

And tgobie, any idea of your arrival from the ferry and when you might be there? There is a cruise up the street afterwards if you two are down for it! There are two other smart car owners that go to that cruise, but they aren't on SCOA.
