colleen's accident

colleen was in an accident on thurs 5-7-09. she was solo and turning left at an intersection on a green light(not arrow). she proceeded into the intersection and waited for a clearing, she last looked up and saw the light turn yellow. now in the middle of the intersection, she had to go. she again checked for a clearing and proceeded to go and was hit by an oncoming suv that ran the red light. the suv hit her right front bumper and drove through the front end without slowing down. i found the steel bumper from the smart behind the suv about 20 yards from the smart. in the end our smart was driveable, the suv was not. colleen walked away with no major injuries, just some minor pain in her wrist, neck and left collar bone(from the seat belt). our smart car did it's job of keeping her safe. there were no injuries in the suv either. GO SMART!!

Yes I can say I have seen the car and it definatly has done the job. It should be back on the road soon! I hope the loaner I gave you is treating you well lol.

Thank goodness. The situation sounded much scarier than the Smart would suggest.

colleen really appreciates all the well wishes. here's a pic of the air bag after deployment. it only brushed both her fore-arms being that she had both hands on the wheel. glad it didn't hit her face but was there just in case, the seatbelt performed well!!
