smart sighting update..

Today In Boulder City at a stoplight I saw a Blue/Black Cabriolet. We both waved and it was great to see some fellow smart owners on the road.

I saw a Lime green smartie today on Eastern and Russell. That color was SO CUTE! Do you think it was a custom paint job, or someone got the replacement panels from Europe? (I think they have green...do they fit?)

Also, my mom saw Maxwell (Shack01) on High View right by my house the other day. ::waves::

Hello Las Vegas,

I live in Summerlin, and am thinking of getting a Smart Car (currently drive a H3). The problem is there are no dealers in Las Vegas, as you know, and I am 6'6" and over 250lbs. My wife thinks I am crazy, but I want one. I have been behind the wheel of a Mini, but I could not drive one because it is way to small. Does anyone know if it has more leg and head room? It looks like it does.

I've got both, and the smart has much more head and leg room. I can run the smart seat so far back that I can't reach the pedals. (Of course, I'm just your average 5'9".)

Maybe Sean will see this and you can try his on for size as I'm pretty sure he is up in your neck of the woods.

As of now the closest dealer is in Riverside and it is a pleasant drive home in your new car. I wouldn't count on a Vegas dealer any time soon although they are advertising this fall. There have been several false starts already here. Anyway, go ahead and get your $99 in and the car will magically appear wherever the closest dealer is.

I AM GETTING MY SMART! Sorry, I'm so excited, I can barely type! As Sean suggested, I got on the list at Riverside (as well as every dealer within ten hours drive) and I got a call today! My perfect little blue/silver will be mine as soon as I can get to Riverside tomorrow. We should get cracking on organizing a meet-up. My vote is for Town Square- "parallel" parking anyone?

Excellent suggestion! Fun parking and a central location for our dispersed population. Guess we'd better get serious about getting our own sub-forum, after all.

I am all for a Vegas meet up, and I have taken my smart to Town Center quite a few times. I usually go to the Apple store and park right out front. It looks lost in the parking spot, and gets TONS of attention.

Sighting and News:

I saw a red smartie with the plate SmrtCar at Trop and Eastern the other day. We both grinned and waved like idiots. I was wondering who had the plate... ;-)

When I picked up my car in Riverside last week, they told me the dealership here will be opening next month. It's supposed to be at an old Towbin dealership at Sahara and Jones. I'll drive by there sometime soon, but do with that info what you will until then...

While waiting in line for an iPhone the other day at Town Square a Red/Black pulled up. I talked to the owner and told him to get on the board so we can have a bigger Vegas meet up.

Any one else have any recent sightings or talk to any owners?
