From time to time I've seen a blue/black in Boulder City...possibly they use it as an RV tow-behind...anyway...

I'm completely excited to receive a "configuration invitation" email, today. If I'm not mistaken, that might mean I receive my car before Christmas? (2008?) [strike]I'm gettin' a white/silver Passion with red interior...a classically beautiful color combo!* How cool is that? [/strike]

P.S. I've been working on changing the colors of my 1986 Toyota Truck to match the smart car...currently blue/blue to white/red!**

**White and Red being the colors of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I think my number is 1521, and I received my reservation letter March 1, 2008. I'm still a little confused...the DDE is still showing March-May 2009, but the configurator was definitely showing 2008 choices (i.e. yellow as exterior color choice). And if what I'm reading is correct, it should be built before October 2008. That's all very good, though I'm having fleeting thoughts of switching to a Pure, so I could have a solid roof. With the money savings, I could consider some far out custom upholstery options.

Will folks be upset that I'm able to configure after just five months?

Saw Maxwell's twin last week (Monday) as we passed 180 out on Warm Springs. Waved frantically, of course and I think they waved back. Also saw a silver and black yesterday. Made a U-turn but never saw them again.

Any word on our dealership?

I am also in the las Vegas area and am still waiting for my car. Now that we have the dealership maybe things will move along. I sure hope so.
I reservered 3-01-08 configured the first one in Aug. for a 2008 DDE March - May 2009 then the got the email 3 weeks ago that we were selected to be in the "small group" to configure a 2009 new DDE date of Feb-April 2009. I wish I knew what smart means by a "small group". The 2009 cars are to be out in Nov.

I also reserved March 1, 2008 and configured twice in August, but my DDE shows October-December 2008. I wonder what accounts for the differences?

There were about two dozen Smart Cars at 5550 W Sahara, today. The Hummer sign was covered with a sign that read "Towbin Motorcars, Smart, Bentley, Rolls Royce & Vespa Piaggo."

Just to let ya other smarties know, I got a "warning" ticket today for parking end-in in a parallel spot at Town Square. The warning doesn't really do anything, but they keep you on the books and repeat offenders can get towed. (same as if you don't pay the meter) I'm a little upset about it, especially considering we organize meet-ups there and the manager that was there the first time didn't disapprove. I asked the security guard why he ticketed me, he was trying to say something about "if someone else tried to pull into the spot and hit me... like a drunk from the Blue Martini"(??!?!). It made no sense and I was rather upset, but I thought I'd let ya'll know security guard #18 is a smartie ticketer at Town Square!

Guess I won't be leaving quarters in my tenytny smartie for the meters any more!
