Hmm. I haven't really ever had a good look at the earlier red color. Granted, were I to make a change, from one color red to another isn't a very big leap. ;)

Hello from Maryland!

I am interested in trading my '08 red panels for white. They have 11,000 miles on them and no damage.
Local only, not interested in any shipping. I am in the area of BWI airport.

Please Private Message if interested.
Many thanks!

For those of you who may be interested in new panels or where freight makes buying used panels prohibitive; i have a couple of deals on panels.

the new red panel sets are 700
the new grey panels are 800
the yellow, black and white panel sets are 800
the old red, silver and blue panels are 1000

that price includes shipping to your house/or work, etc.

disclaimer, sorry have to:
these prices are limited to stock on hand (at smart usa's warehouse) and sale prices are limited time and can end with out further notice (once you placed an order they are locked at that price), price does not include installation.

Seriously, great prices. I'm tempted to call you about a set of yellow panels, Darin. We've talked before, I'm a habitual do-it-yourselfer. Mind if I ask your opinion how long it'd take for a normal, technically inclined person to do a panel swap? Only panels I've had off so far are the doors.

A worry that popped into my head recently while thinking about switching to yellow. Smart *is* still rolling out a small amount of yellow panels as replacement parts, correct? EG, if a person has a color that is not on the new year lineup and they damage a panel, can they still get a replacement?

jwight,

I may be all wrong, but I think that this is an old post from SmartTech and these prices may not longer be accurate.

jwight,

I was all wrong. I didn't realize that the "sale" is on again because of an overstock of certain panel colors.

average do it your selfer.. about 5 hours the first time, second time 3 hours, then when you get fast about 2 hours. the hardest part is when the panels are all broken down. if you can store the panels in modules (ie front sec or rear sec it make the swap go much much faster)
if you plan on swapping panels a lot i would buy the rear heat isolator those pring clips suck and the start to tear the panels over repeated removal
