Hey smartiePrincess;
I just wanted to let you (and everyone else) know that since we saw you at the meeting on 11/23, we took delivery of an 09 blue Passion coupe.
My estimated delivery date on my red Passion was (and still is) off somewhere near February 2010. I knew the date would come down, but I just couldn't wait.
We started looking for an orphan. Who would have thought we would consider adopting - and at our age.
We would have taken a silver and certainly a red, but the shade of blue on the 09's didn't look bad at all. We went with a blue with a silver tub and a "grey" interior.
We got the car home late Saturday, aftering being at the agency almost all day. Absolutely exhausting. Not that anyone was a pain, on the contrary, everyone at the dealership tried to make it as easy on us as possible. We just tire easily.
Any way, we drove around all day Sunday, and today we are getting ready to go back over to Walters to complete the transaction.
I will post pictures and a message on SCOA and other smart sites. But I wanted you and the IE group to know first.
Again, we are having a ball with this car and we will see you at the next meeting.

Did they charge you for extras?? Powder coat or chrome wheels, Nav system?

Am I the only one that notices that getting a smart is a lot like expecting a child?

Of course, the smart is a lot cheaper!

Sorry for the delay - we've been out driving around a lot.
There was no mark-up.
The only extras were fog lights, tridion silver paint, extra sound, anti-theft, and comfort package. All of that was factory on the invoice. Smart Riverside didn't add anything.
No navi, painted wheels.
Amazingly the little guy only made it one day until it had to go in for a check-up. We were out at the dealership and the "check engine" light came on. We drove over to Walters and they diddled with the car for a while and finally gave it back, "fixed". We shall see.
It is definately a boy. Name of "Gainsborough" as in "Gainsborough's Blue Boy". Goes by the nick of "G.B."
Yeah, I know that Gainsborough is just one word, and "G.B." suggests a two word name, but I can't help it, that's who he said he was----.
We will see you next meet-up. I hope you have your car by then.
