Here we are (or at least some of us). These are in the Flathead area, at least 3 others couldn't make it.

Awesome photos, thanks for the response. There are very few in the Billings area, I expect maybe 4. The photos look like they were in the Sommers area. Are most of these owners located in Kalispel?

There are 3 451's and 2 450's in Whitefish and 5 451's in Kalispell that we know of. Yes picture was going threw Somers and parked in Lakeside.

Representing Eastern Montana

I live in Glendive and just received mine on June 13th. My daughter is purchasing one from a local dealer. I got mine on e-bay.

Excuse moi.

The local dealer I was referring to is a local FORD dealer. They got in a SMART car to see how it would go over. The response was unbelievable. My daughter was the first person to lay down a check and say she wanted the car. A salesman said that they could have sold 200 of them. The news travelled around Glendive like a wildfire gone mad. Who needs television and radio? Word of mouth is better!

MT Smart, That is a great story. I take it the Ford dealer bought the smart off the grey market? He's not a smart dealer is he?

I know the popularity is there, I get a dozen people a day asking about mine and I just park it in my lot. I had someone ask me about safety today, they ask what would happen if a semi ran over me. I replied, probably the same as if a semi ran over an accord or camry.... is there a difference between dead and really dead? Anyway isnt the idea to avoid accidents?
I look forward to seeing your smart on the roads, if you get a chance checkout the smartusa insider web site, very well done.

Two months later...I've had my Smart for two months and I'm still in love with it! I was on vacation and left it in the driveway......got home and drove it around today. I'm still getting big grins and waves from people. The guy at the drive up window at "Subway" evidently hasn't seen it yet because his mouth dropped open when he handed me my sandwich....his eyes got big and he said, "What a tiny car!" I realized that I really missed it when I got in and turned it on. Awwww....what a Q T!

Here's My Story

My mother got her Smart Car off Ebay. The day that hers came in, American Ford got in a yellow one. I test drove my mom's so I decided that I wanted to get one. I put my money down, called the bank.

At first I thought my husband was going to throw a fit. $19,000 for a teeny car that only fits two people? What the heck!

Honey, it's made by (in a round about way) MERCEDES!! I could own a 2008 MERCEDES!! WOOHOO!! He didn't disagree, I think the selling point is 55 MPG in town, and I drive around alot. He said yes.

My car shows up at work. It was definately a hot topic for a while. The guys were asking me all kinds of stuff, how big is the engine, how do you change the oil, what kind of horse power does it have....I DON'T KNOW!! I just bought it cause it is totally cute, and it gets awesome gas mileage.

They found out for me, as I got off work the next afternoon, they had the engine compartment all open, the hood off (good thing they figured that out for me!) and were snooping all around the inside. It was very fascinating to watch all these "big truck" guys gauking over a teeny yellow car. A few have gotten rides and they have asked to drive it. I put on awesome insurance that way if someone wants to take it for a spin, it's covered. It's my baby!

My husband would much rather drive in the pickup, than take the teeny car, but he grew up on a ranch, driving big mean cars. It's been called everything from a Jellybean to Lemondrop to Herbie with an attitude. It fits me, I love it, and I couldn't stand NOT to have one.
