French and Italian

Has anybody been to this car show? Since our cars were built in Smartville, FR, they should be considered French.

I inquired about entering this show last year and I was denied. The lady who is in charge is co-owner of Autobooks/Aerobooks in Burbank. She told me that they only wanted older French & Italian vehicles. Try contacting her and see if she will change her mind? I tried to convince her that smarts would draw a lot of attention in the show but she was definitely not interested.

So only older cars are the best? Someone tell the designers to stop trying and go back to the old plans for cars

Are our cars any more French than say a BMW X5 is American?

Her definition may have broadened if registrations are down. And, if enough people ask, she may begin to believe there is interest in the Smart.

Another thread about being excluded from a car show included ideas for holding a Smart rally across the street - ala the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which has turned from a counter celebration to a full fledged event of its own.

French & Italian Car Show:

If someone in the So. Cal. area wants to try & open up this show to smarts, they should contact the sponsors by clicking on the link in the first thread. If it is the same lady, whom I know, she is very closed minded. They are into Citroens and Alfas. One might also want to mention that there are older smarts out there as well. Give it a try and see what happens. If you are successful, post the info. on this websight and SoCalSmarties.

Good Luck.

After my post, I sent an email to the contact address posted on the site. No reply, yet. Something tells me I won't get one.

P.S. I just sent another message.
