Mulholland 101 405 and PCH

OK how does the Smart do on those roads/freeways?

Mulholland
PCH
101
405

I commute back and forth from the Valley to Beverly Hills every day. Just curious how it is on those roads.

Also, has anyone driven a Smart to Big Bear? How did it do?

Thanks!

No offence intended, but it's a car. Why would the smart handle these particular roads differently than other ones? It goes up hills, down hills, around sharp curves, over bumps, and can top out at an indicated 92 mph.

Well, Padawan, I guess I was looking for someone to tell me their fun experiences on, in particular, Mulholland & PCH (I would imagine the curves of Mulholland and the Canyons would be more fun than in the Nissan Altima rental I'm currently driving) and the 101 and 405 freeways are in crap condition so I wondered how it handles the bumps and pot holes and things.

Thanks Gilbert! I can't open the link at work thanks to our annoying firewall but I will check it at home.

Sorry I didn't quite get your question at first. I'm sure you'll find that the smart is tons of fun on just about any road.

Did just fine last August going up to Reno and then twice to Lake Tahoe. Handled the curvy roads and 8,000' pass just fine.

I drive all of those roads frequently and the car is a blast to drive. However, having said that and being perfectly honest with you, you will want to avoid pot holes and large cracks in the road as much as possible because the car does not care for or react well to those road conditions.

The suspension works overtime to absorb bad bumps, but because the car is so light, it can only do so much to soften the ride over bad bumps.

i seem to have a pothole radar now, and try and avoid them as much as possible, the plus is, the easy manuverability of the smart.
