Thanks everyone for responding.

Every time I make a sharp turn into a lane I think "I could've done that so much more perfectly in a Smart!"

ive taken my smart up the hill a few times already. did highway 38 to barton flats, 30 to green valley and 18 to arrowhead. and each time towing my tent trailer, aprox 500 lbs. i can keep up with traffic and even passed a SLOW vehicle, but were not racing up the hill :-). i dont mind letting the hot rodders pass so i do use the turnouts when available. but i do keep up no problem.

Well I took mine up the Mulholland twists w/ out a trailer and let me tell you. It was a blast! The engine is perfection!! The twistier the rode the better the engine performs (provided that you use the tiptronics to downshift when needed, then quickly switch back to automatic). I found that the Smart can dig into a downhill turn like no other. Having an engine in the back really helps when your trying to balance things out. My only complaint is that vision is blocked when taking left hand sweepers b/c of the part of the frame that goes from the mirror to the roof. I really pushed her to see what happens. I only used the skid, brake safety feature thing once and it really helped, but I think if it had better suspension you could really make better use of the safety features. The safety features are so good but seems like they are cancelled out by the low quality of the suspension. But as far as having enough power to go up hills its no problem AT ALL. You just have to give her more gas...don't be afraid to thats what engines are made for!

Of course its not a Porsche but any good driver would understand what I'm saying. Obviously you are not a good driver...don't worry though most people aren't.
