Here are some events I found that may be of interest to So Cal Smarties besides the big October 4 bash in West Covina.

Want to make any one or more "official"?

Saturday, October 11 - USS Midway drive / meet - Tom's Farm and then meet with San Diego smarties.

Saturday, October 11 (I know, this conflicts with the USS Midway event) 10 am - 4 pm at the South Coast Botanical Gardens in Palos Verdes - Fabulous Fifties Concours d'Provenance - Fabulous fifties - AutoWeek Magazine - $7 Garden entry fee.

Saturday, October 18 9 am - 3 pm - Harmony Festival Car Show, Monterey Park - http://ci.monterey-park.ca.us/docs/car_show_flyer.pdf - $20 presale entry.

November 23 - 5th Annual Toys 4 Tots Charity Car Show / Autox / Track Event - Team Transport Presents: The Toys for Tots Charity Car Show - We need to have only SIX smarties registered to have our own trophy class! TEN smarties registering at the same time (together an by 10/24) get a discounted entry of $20.

How about contacting the people at the "Best of France & Italy" Car Show & Swap Meet at Woodley Park in Van Nuys on Sunday, Nov. 2nd. Contact info. is (626) 797-4221 or www.franceanditaly.com. If there is enough interest they may have a judging class for Smarts? Afterall, they are built in France and they are the best.

what exactly is official?
im doing the midway trip. if youd like to go, be at toms farm 8-8:30, leaving at 8:30 sharp, officially. :-)

Isn't there anyting beter than a car show, lets take a drive somewhere. how about Big Bear or Idyllwild or up the mountains in La Canada there's many places to meet up and take a drive.

i'm part of ITN rally group where we do navigational rallies seeing how we can fit in with them. events are timed based on 65mph driving for example point A to B within 5 mins... show up to early get penalized, show up late loose points. and so forth.they usually dont cost anything to enter. they are already a big group so i'm waiting on green light to see if we can join them. very fun.

there is also the weekly tab tuesday meets. only two smarts so far. red and yellow.

we can get a deal at kart factory fullerton if we go as group. ( gas powered indoor go-karts)

we can invade other car meets, subaru, nissan honda meets. some mixed and non mixed groups. tabtuesday is a mixed car meet.

and i'm route planning a drive deal. that will tour a good chunk of road. even through some curvey red tarmac.

i did the tab tuesday thing on a sat a few weeks ago. sorry i wasnt impressed. to me it was a group of ricers who think its the worlds best thing to literally RACE up and down the canyons with no thought about LIFE or PROPERTY. personally these little cuties are in no way anything that id be dong that in. ive driven porsches and corvettes and have done autocross and big track events and to me their canyon stuff is looking for nasty problems. this will only collect negatives weather from the police or public. otherwise they were a nice group.
imho id steer clear of them.

I plan to be there donny! Probably will have to meet you guys at Midway as I will be close to SD the day before. Early morning drives are tough for my +1.
