If I lived in Philly (or another town with citywide wifi) I would remove the glove compartment and mod a housing for a mini laptop. My favorite is the HP mini-note:

If you lived in Philly, you'd be thankful for any storage space that closes and locks -- in many parts of the city, leaving so much as a phone charger out screams "There's Stuff in Here! Please break in!"

That being said, when the wi-fi goes truly free citywide (press conference today announcing that), it'll be great.

Tinted windows and a good alarms system go a long way... That and a gun rack visible from the outside.

While my smart and I are spending most of our time in Baltimore these days because of school, our permanent home is in Bryn Mawr (Philly suburb) and I drove it around the University City area for a couple weeks in August, though when I parked, it was in a Drexel garage.

I don't see many smarts when I'm home, but here's hoping I'll start to see more - maybe I'll see some when I'm back to vote on Election Day!

I have the Asus EEE PC that is similar in size to your HP Mini-Note. I saw a pc stand that fits into the cup holder and has a small platform with strap that olds the small pc in place.
I have the 7 inch but it does come in 9 and 10 inch. Here is the Froogle results for 'car computer stand'.

Hi Phila, We are cruising to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord from Macungie on 12/13/08. Leaving at 11:00am, will arrive around 12:15, eat lunch ,and then on to the parking lot to talk Smart and admire our rides! We have 23 members, always a good turnout,great group!
