New exhaust is here! No Drone!

We are proud to introduce a new line of performance exhaust by Solo Performance. Solo Performance has been building exhaust systems since 1960's and had designed a custom exhaust system for the smart car.

It is well made, light and most importantly gives you a gain in performance without all that noise. In addition, we are introducing it at a reduced price for the month of April.

Here is the direct link:

Thank you!

How does that flex joint work? What type of steel/grade? How many joints between muffler and exhaust tip?

Thank you for your interest....

1) Flex- The spherical joint has shouldered spring bolts. This allows the installer to tighten them to a pre-engineered spec and no more. This torque, once the spring bolts bottom out, allows the spherical joint to seal on the gasket. The joint is not allowed to be tightened to the point of immobility. It’s an engineered spec that allows for movement and seal.

2) The pipe steel that is used is T409 stainless. The pipe is all mandrel bent. The muffler and tip are T304 stainless.

3) The front elbow has the flex joint in it and can be removed for easy installation. The rest of the unit is one piece. There is a one piece pipe on the inlet side of the muffler and a one piece pipe that goes from the muffler outlet to the tip. There are no weld joints that connect 2 pieces of pipe. All of the pipes are one piece. The only welding (stainless weld) is from muffler to pipe and from pipe to tip.

We have a limited supply of these exhausts and more are in production now. Once our first batch sells out (expected by the end of today maybe tomorrow based on emails and in store customer interest) we will continue to sell them as a pre sale at the introductory price. All pre orders should be filled within 2-3 weeks.

Thank you everyone....

Boris

I agree with your point. One challenge we have is too few exhausts at this time, the lack of a stock car and an owner who is willing to do a test and time.

When we have enough exhausts in to fill the current demand and a bit more time along with a willing owner we will get the dyno done and post the results. Meanwhile I can tell you that the exhaust looks great, weight less, has a beautiful sound, built well and those that have put one on loved it.

Thanks!

Yes,

We will put one together. It is a pretty easy install. In fact, out of all the exhausts we have installed this is the easiest.

The first two batches sold out pretty quick to our walk in customers.

In our shop we have a display that shows all the exhausts that are available for the smart. When people have an opportunity to pick up each exhaust, examine the details in the workmanship, the weight, the finish and the overall look most have been going to the Remus and the Solo. If money is not an issue and you are not planning to use a body kit then the Remus is the hands down winner. If you are looking for the best bang for the buck quality exhaust or plan to maybe use a body kit sometime later then it has been the Solo.

Since our first two orders sold out quickly we have placed a larger order and it is scheduled to be delivered April 15th. All orders placed prior to today have been filled and anything from today on will be filled on the 16th. So, if you are thinking about getting an exhaust this is a great option.

Thank you.

dB readings?

Any objective dB measurement (inside and out) between stock and the Solo? Thanks.
