If you are unlucky and they sell out before you can get one, and you are in a big fix and need something badly, you can get one of these 3/8" socket drive, cup-type filter tools (65mm/67mm size) at the car parts places. Same working theory as the official smart 454/451 tool (P/N A454589060900). Five bucks at Advance Auto Parts. (The Yamaha filter in the tool is identical to the OEM Tokyo Roki/Mitsu/smart filter with 14 flutes on the bottom of the can.)

The thing isn't tucked away or anything, a small strap-wrench (available @ Sears for $9.99) works just as well and has multiple uses as well....

Like cracking open pesky jars in the kitchen.
