I am sweetening the deal a little. If the maintenance package is purchased, I will throw in a metal oil filter wrench that fits the smart oil filter. Thanks for looking.

Paul,

From my smart buying experiences I know your dealership is at the leading edge for smart internet parts sales, but I can't help but wonder what the service interval is on some of these items? Our lack of a comprensive repair manual is limiting some of us do-it-yourselfers. I know that I will be needing these, sometime. For example; how long do plugs last? All the gas vehicles I have owned for years have had the same plugs when I sold them at 150,000 miles plus as when I bought them new at the dealership. Does anyone know if these Mitsi engines need plug replacements?

I'm glad you have the cabin filters, I change those annually, but will probably change oil filters a couple times a year and air filters per the manual or performance issues.

It's great to know that we have a stocking dealer that is easy to reach, thanks.

I tried attaching the smart Maintenance Guide, but the PDF is too big. I checked on the plugs and they are due at 30K.

You have to drop the engine for the plugs.

That is what my smart brand specialist in Indy told me. Take it for what it is worth.

Your specialist is wrong. The three plugs are accessible inside the back once the cover is removed.

I think it possible the the specialist may be thinking about the check valve lifter shim clearance at 60,000 miles. This may require the motor removed if any shims are out of spec and need replaced. This would be at one of the change spark plug intervals so they may have been taught to remove the motor as a standard procedure at that particular service
