Don't mean to rain on your parade, but I wouldn't do it. Then again, as you know, I'm an OLD FART!

What I've been thinking about doing is taking the headlamps apart and painting the 'chrome' background BLACK. This would kind of give the same effect, but not cut down on the output of the lamps. Also, being that mine is a little Panda, the adding of black around it's "eyes" would be appropriate.

smoked headlights (and tail lights) are illegal in many (most?) states. I'd love to tint zippy's tails. That red clashes with the pink!

What Panda says, paint the chromy bits on the inside - much safer, legal and I think it looks better.

Don't know if I'm brave enough to try that myself. I may take one out some day and check it out. But I would rather do that than spend the $$'s for the tinted covers and then have some cop give me a ticket AND make me REMOVE THEM!

If you didn't get the e-mail yet; please take the survey I created here about the rally this past weekend.

Not in Illinois! Most modified cars here tend to start off with the ricer exhaust tip and smoked tails and heads.

Wow, this area is still alive and kicking!

P.S. My church had a nice auto show today. I saw everything from the Tesla (CA plates, road legal), an EV Herbie Beetle (won best of show), a couple Deloreans, an amphicar in original mint condition, to eventually a monster of a pickup truck towing an even equally as monster cigarette boat. Yet there were no smarts. When they have it next year I will be a parking it there and informing the uninformed.
