If you want a southern route. i could put something together, maybe go down the Wisconsin side of the river from Red Wing down to Nelson, across to Minnesota side, back up to Red Wing, or ?? ( about 45 miles I think) lots of small towns and not much traffic.
Maybe arrange a special at one of the resturants in Red Wing (I know most of them)
** I will be out of town on Sept. 18-20**
71 miles round trip from Red Wing to Red Wing. Mapquest says just under 2 hrs plus stops. Great views of the river, Bluffs, Trees, and a few small towns. Plenty of spots to stop and take photos. Hwy 35 on Wisconsin side is not a real busy road, so not much traffic along the river. 61 on Minnesota side is a bit more heavily traveled and doesn't follow the river as much once you get north of Lake City. A fun ride on a motorcycle.
Fall Flood run is Sept. 19th.If you want to see a billion motorcycles make just about the same trip only a little longer, Plan on a traffic jam of bikes in the smaller towns.
