I suggest the Gurnee Mills Mall... It's next to Six Flags: Great America (my 1st job ). It's 15 minutes from the WI border, we can meet up there and us up in northern IL (me hopefully) can meet up with the Chicago and other smart drivers.
P.S. Just a warning, Gurnee's roads are an obstacle course...
THat is a Huge understatement.
Make you plans a bit further north for the northern Chicago up through Milwaukee. Even when 94 isn't under construction that area around Gurnee mills Mall is a nightmair and you would never keep a group together.
Try Location (26) for a grouping on I94
You are right, people should be driving toward their destination and meet up somewhere. Then they can leave as a group at sometime to get to their hotel.
Just out of curiosity, how many of you Chicagoan's would like to meet up in Rochelle, IL. at Hwy. 39 and 88 on the 12th, say 1:00? How bout you RB, would you like to meet up here in Iowa city or in Rochelle?
Being that I live in one of those 'you can't get there from here' towns, I'll stick to my original route of US 61/218 to Iowa City and muddle on from there.
Hey RB, I fully understand. I use to run a sunglass route through Quincy and the surrounding area when I lived in St.Louis and there is no easy way to get anywhere from Quincy. Well, just let us know a couple of days before and we'll plan on a meeting and take off from here in IC.
I talked to the brand specialist at Smart Center lake bluff and they are very excited for the rally. People from this area should meet up there and then hit the road.
Always wanted to try that thing, I figured I could get some sleep during the crossing. I haven't been over to visit my lil sister or the neices for a while....
I'll be coming from St. Louis... going up I-55 to I-39 in IL. Looks like about 425 miles. With the kick-ass Area 451 Cruise Control it'll be "just a cruise".
