Despite the thunder, torrential rain and cold - at least 56 smart cars and their owners had a blast!!!!
The smart center crew deserve a great deal of credit for pulling this event off as smoothly as possible under very difficult conditions. The center was packed, the food was great, the staff made everyone feel like they were the most special people in the smart world.
The caravan and photo op was an adventure in itself, marshalling 56 smarts through downtown Milwaukee traffic to the lakeshore with other cars moving in and out of "our" lanes.....I was glad I had a passenger to help navigate! Did I mention the torrential rains .....
We arrived at the Milwaukee Art Museum (an appropriate spot!) and began to pack the 56 cars into a little paved area around a small fountain area right in front of the building. Thanks to all who help pack us in without a "nudge". The sails of the
Burke Brise Soleil opened and we were photographed with and without owners.
Did I mention it was pouring rain???? Everyone took it all in stride with patience and good will. When you are with smart people all is good!
I promoted the Midwest Summer Rally and I think there were at least a dozen names on the caravan sign up sheet to leave from the smart center.
Ryan, Tony, Erik, Lindsay and the rest of the staff were just super as always.
I will try to post a couple photos.
The comment from my hubby on the way home .... "That was fun. I had a good time. I'm glad I went." That is high praise from him! As he was the one running around in the rain taking photos for me
