I guess the smart falls under the catagoty everything.

My biggest grip was that I had to pay for a fair I had no desire to go to in order to get into this event.

Oh and the name Hybridfest has got to go, Green drive expo is good.

ahh.. ok! The smiley face does make a difference. No worries.
And as for the South Park episode, I've seen it and it cracks me up... pretty sure I even have it bookmarked.

Giantkiller, I'm sure our paths will cross again sometime. I look

Forestacademy, most car and expo events have some kind of admission. $7 for a day is not overly expensive, especially when you consider that parking was free. Plus if you were going to be around more than one day, I think you could buy advance tickets. (For our participants who registered for the event for weekend Fair admission was free.)

As far as the Hybridfest name going away, I doubt that will happen. I spent a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and money to trademark that name. What you will see is a changing of how it is used.

I envision Green Drive Expo being home to many different "Fests". For example, you may remember me early on inviting smart car owners to join us at the event. There is certainly a place for "smartFest" at Green Drive Expo. As well as Hybridfest at Green Drive Expo. Or how about PropaneFest at Green Drive Expo... I think you get the idea.

We have already created an event, all you need to do is link in and expand it and make it more interesting to the people who come. I think not only would your smart car people benefit from it, but the public would as well.

I am confident that people want to know a lot more about smart cars. I frequently get questions and comments about them. It would be great if you guys could share your stories at Green Drive Expo.

All's well. What's even better is you didn't correct me on the color I mentioned. I had a Citrus YELLOW metallic Insight. Just curious to see if you'd correct me. I know of a site where the Insight guys would blow a gasket if they heard the illusive Citrus Yellow Metallic called Green. Then they would yell at me asking how come I didn't search it first.

That's one thing that I love about this site. A newbie comes here and asks a question we've already answered 1,000,000 times already and we just answer it instead of yelling at them telling them how dumb they are because they didn 't use the search engine first. (sorry, hit a hybrid nerve on me there )

OK, back on topic. Green vehicles. Your Mercedes - One tank or two? I've built a couple two tank systems. Mercedes and VW.

Thanks for asking about the Benz.
I have an Elsbett single tank system.
I got the car with 115,000 on it for $800... already converted!
It's a 1983 300D Turbodiesel.

A great car and use it as a daily driver.

I recently sold (within the last year) a 240D with a 300D non-turbo engine, my personal car. Installed a Frybrid system in it for the new owner. I pulled the Frybrid out of one of my Jettas when the buyer offered more than I paid for the system if I would install it. He has lot of miles on it now and loves it.

As far as the Jetta goes, I need to put a new/rebuilt head on it as it slipped out of time while going interstate speeds. The new system will be a home-grown system as I'm pretty sure I can improve upon the Frybrid - which is a tough task. Priority is getting it running again, went out of commission a bit over 2 years ago.

Nice buy on the benz with a Elsbett already installed! Now I can only assume you have a 2000 Insight that is Pewter (Silver).

Actually, my Insight is a Red 2002 5 speed.
I bought it in 2003 for $10,000 with 30,000 miles on it. I now have 122,000 miles.

Ahhh. I did take you for a 5spd kind of guy. That's why I had the assumption that it was a 2000. Silver because it seems like they all are Silver though I did see a red the other day as well as a blue. Citrus I haven't seen since I sold mine. It's in Ohio now. Sold it on eBay for how much I paid for it after driving it for 2.5 years and 30k miles. ($10k) I was offered much more but eBay scares me on stuff like that. I picked the buyer, a stand up guy who had a good set of questions and I just liked his attitude. This was May of '07. Wish I would of kept it but the dirt road I live on was killing it. Oddly enough, I'm not as attached to my Smarts as I was that car.

I like the idea of all mileage friendly off the wall cars. WVO, SVO, Electric or hybrid. Oh, and I do have a Vette in the stable too, just to even it out.
