Yalaha Bakery Event-Sat, Nov 22

To All Central Florida Smart Car Members
Just a reminder of our meet and greet this Sat morning, November 22 at the Yalaha Bakery.
The Music will be provided by an internationally recognized family band from the UK who play Contemporary and Celtic Music. It appears to be a high energy and very entertaining group. They will be playing from 10:00 AM to Noon on the Bakery Patio. The bakery will also be having their weekly cookout and will be selling cold beverages as well. The crowds at the bakery on Saturdays are variable but they can be very heavy and I suspect that with Thanksgiving being next week there will be a crowd stocking up on Breads and Pastries. Vickie and I will try to get there by 9:00 AM again the music starts at 10:00. If you have camp chairs you can bring along you may want them and the music is outdoors so dress appropriate for the weather.

If you have never been to the Yalaha Bakery before the morning would be well worth the drive. I hope to see many of you there.
Details and driving directions are below.
1. Saturday, November 22 we will have a meet and greet and rally at the famous Yalaha Bakery near Howie in the Hills. The Yalaha Bakery is a German Bakery well known for outstanding breads and pastries. On Sat mornings at 10:00 AM they have live music on their patio and usually have an outdoor grill going for sandwiches and beverages. You can check out information on the bakery at: Yalaha Bakery Come out and pick up that special loaf of bread or fancy pastry for your Thanksgiving dinner, meet with the smarties and enjoy some music on the patio. I suggest we arrive by 9:30 AM latest in order to shop the bakery in advance of the music and to get a good seat on the lawn or patio. Bring a folding lounge chair along. The directions from Orlando are: Go north on the FL turnpike until you come to the Leesburg/Tavares exit which is also marked as exit 285 and is the exit for SR 19 and Hwy. 27. This exit comes after the second Clermont exit. After going through the tollbooth, turn left on Hwy. 27 and immediately get into the left lane. Turn left at the very first road which is CR 19 North, towards Howey-in-the-Hills. When you enter Howey, please observe the speed limit signs because the town strictly enforces them. There is one blinking light in town followed by a full traffic light in front of the main Mission Inn Golf and Country Club sign. At this light keep in the left lane which is the start of CR. 48. From this intersection, go straight on and you will find the Bakery 3.2 miles ahead on the left in a two story Bavarian style building. If you need directions from other areas please let me know or check the Yalaha Bakery website.

Thanks to all who attended the Bakery event. It was a cool but beautiful morning, the entertainment was great and it was good to reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones.
I'm sorry that Vickie and I had to leave early but trust that all of you enjoyed the morning and had a safe trip home. We had 12 or more smart cars there and I really appreciate the support,

Thanks again,

Ken

Nice time, great baked goods

We enjoyed the event, thanks Ken for organizing it. It was nice meeting everyone. Hi Sue!

I took a few pictures. Unfortunately, I can't post a link to the site until I post 3 times on the forum. :-(
