Carrier Landing?

I read the thoughts owners have and are interested in having a meet and greet. In this area, each month it is one of 5 spots around the city. North, South, East, West and downtown. The "Tail of the Dragon" event brought in just over 100 smarties. That 4 letter word which started with "w" got in my way. Virginia has so much to offer for great events to happen.
Williamsburg has Colonial Parkway with other key sites attached which would make an enjoyable day.
The north has so many historical sites to offer.
In the far west we have similar to the "Tale", Skyline Drive.
In the east we have multiple areas. One in mind is aircraft carriers. With the right resources, one might set up a meet and eat on one of the parked carriers. With the right resources, we could let the crew and us play on the flight deck. What a landing that would be.
Any thoughts?

With the current force protection measures in place, doing much of anything at NOB is problematic, especially around the carrier piers. Nauticus and USS WISCONSIN (BB-64) might be more do-able.

Otherwise as a planning tool, VDOT at one time published a map titled "A Map of Scenic Roads in Virginia," showing all the official and proposed VA Byways and attractions. It was available n/c from:
VDOT Administrative Services Division
1401 E. Broad Street
Richmond, VA 23219
(804) 786-0002

Did I pass you yesterday morning (Tuesday) on I-64W just before the I-95 ramps about 1100? I was hooked-up on I-64E (white/black/red).

Being retired military, I can get folks on the base. We can see the ships, subs and planes via the old windshield tour. I have a friend who is the CMC (the senior enlisted) on a big deck (carrier). If the ship is in port we might be able to get a tour.

I have this map only I call it Fun Motorcycle Roads of Virginia. I keep the map in my bike and just point and go.

You can also get the map at the interstate rest stops.
