I certainly applaud you efforts to organize the smart crowd here in St.Louis.We would LOVE to meet other enthusiasts but unfortunately we will not be available for the August meet.Hopefully we can make the following meeting.Live it up.

I also live in KC and while I think the WORLD of mews, smark on the other hand is nuthin' but trouble!
Then I think we'll get along just fine.

Three suggestions:
1. Do some basic organizing -- exchange email addresses, learn something about whomever shows up, etc. We went round the table introducing ourselves while I took notes. Since then I have passed the SmartCar Czar title to another sucker, er, I mean WONDERFUL VOLUNTEER (Andy above!) but the initial organizing steps sure helped.
B. Take pictures of your meeting! People and cars!
We did all this at our first meet up, already ahead of ya!

3. Include a cruise at every activity! And get pics of that, too! Over time, your group will grow, but you will learn how to function together by DRIVING together.
We would have done this, if the weather wasn't sucktastic that day. We'll do that next go round!
Thanks much, Terry!
And poor Jeff C.! Two in a row! Oh well, I can come bother you personally.
Okay, next plan. I need some help for the cruise if you wish to do one! Anyone familar with the stl area know a good cruise idea? All I really know is highway, sadily... and I don't wanna do just that...
Update: I've made up my mind. Creve Coeur Lake Memorial park. It's a great place to practice a cruise to, since it's only a short sprint from the dealer. Oh, and to get some extra pictures.
OK, I am ready to come. Have something to do in the evening, but afternoon is good. Tell me again the details for August 8th.
I'll volunteer for a September event unless the dealer wants to do something or someone else wants to step up.
If not, I'll plan a hyper-miler rally. We can top up out tanks at the starting spot, have a nice leisurely drive/cruise (not too far), stop for lunch along the way and circle back to the same fill-up point and fill up again. Check the mileage and pass out an award or two. I'll figure out the route and those who can come will get a map, etc. More details to follow if this is an acceptable idea.
Glad to here from so many owners, the more the merrier. Spread the word, leave notes on windshields....
Don't know yet if I can make it but I'll try.I like the hypermiling idea, I still have the air intakes I made, maybe I could install one on someone elses car to show how well they work(installation doesn't take long and could be done on the street if necessary with just a few tools). If anyone is interested let me know.
West Port, I'm very familiar with that area. I think that weekend you're here would be perfect to set up a day out for those of us who wish to come.
Here we go,
How does Applebees, Sat. 8 at 2PM Sound to everyone? You know, the one at Olive and I-270 right next door to the dealer, right under the hotel? Meet up, grab a bite, and Afterward we can harass the sales people.
Could we make it closer to noon? Long drive in.... to long to just eat and run.
Newave, I was wondering too. Could we meet for lunch earlier? 11:30 12:00. It will give us more time in the afternoon for a drive. It always seems to take a 1 1/2 to eat, visit, someplace. Some of the others from KC will arrive about that time, into St. Louis.
Is the Smart dealer at the Mercedes dealer on Olive????? East of 270, where the Applebees is????
If you guys are planning to get together for lunch first, we could possibly meet up with you to eat. We're thinking about trekking to KC that weekend and could stop in St Louis to meet up with you guys.
But we also have some friends there to see as well that evening OR we may be trying to make the Royals game Saturday evening.
Either way, we could meet up with you for lunch anyway.
