First tank 32.31 mpg, second tank 34.56. Mixed driving with 70% highway @ 55-60mph. Good tire pressure, manual shift (auto shift points are too low) outside temp -8f to 15f (yes, cold here at the Canadian border) some excessive idling do to answering questions. Expect better when temps warm up.

I filled my Passion for the first time last night with 91 octane premium at $3.03 here in Mesa, AZ. I drove it until the reserve indicator was blinking and it said I had .8 gal left. I think that feature (and many others) is very handy! I got right at 35mpg and I have not been babying it. More than half of my 30 miles a day is stop and go on a freeway. I use the manual mode because I find the automatic mode annoying. I'm saving money and burning less gas than my Scion would, and it's a heck of a lot more fun.

1st tank 32.7 mpg, topped off as soon as I left dealer.2nd tank 31.1 mpg was hoping for improvement.Anyone know the best RPM's to cruise at for optimum gas milage.Do about 85% in town driving.90% manuel mode, when in auto seems to get to 5th gear too soon.Use Costco premium gas.

I'd try a tank in 'D' mode anyway, just to see what difference it makes. I definitely tend to be a more aggressive driver when in manual mode, which will strongly hinder gas mileage (in my case).

My commute is 30 miles each way. 10 miles on suburban roads, 12 miles freeway, and 8 miles of mountain driving. I have another fill-up due tonight, but the car's range looks to be around 320-340 before the reserve light comes on. I'll post tonight's figures here when I get them. Mileage looks to have improved about 5% in the 1st 1000 miles. For reference, I get around 20-21 mpg in my Cayenne on the same route.
Fill up last night got me 44.44 mpg. Combined with the last one, I'm now averaging 44.945 mpg. Interestingly, a lot depends on the pump and where the auto switch off occurs. A fraction of a gallon matters when you're only putting in 6-7 gallons at a time. My practical range is 320-340 miles on a tank.

I really like the reserve indication on the gauge. When you hit reserve, it counts down telling you how many fractions of a gallon are left instead of displaying the trip odometer. Reserve activates when 1 gallon is remaining.

Do you fill up "right then" or do you keep going?
Is there a way to switch back to the trip so you know how many miles you've done?

Just hold the button for a few seconds and it will show the trip mileage.

Since this is going to replace my 600SL, that gets only about 11 mpg in town on a good day, I am very happy.
4th tank was 32mpg
