Its like the Prius states it can get about 46 MPG per fueleconomy.gov site, but in reality I was getting in the high 30's on average.

That was exactly what happened to me as well and I was really disappointed. I had hoped the lower mpg was because of a lower quality of gas (shouldn't premium give better mpg?). Anyways on the second fill-up with premium I hit 35 and celebrated!

Maybe not quite full and maybe not premium. It's a dealer, y'know.

I filled up for the 3rd time and got 43.5MPG. Looking better... Also, I now have over 1,100 miles on the car since 2/12/08...

Fabulous!
I fully expect these numbers to get even better as the new engine gets more broken in...like around 8,000-10,000 miles.

Dcrooks: almost the same here. 37.3 38.5, and now that I'm starting to romp it, , 42.2.

In ten days we put on 1050 miles. The car is now ready for the road, but for at least another 500 miles we will vary our freeway speeds,

A2Jack.
