In our 05 diesel I got 77 MPG Imperial, which equals 64 MPG US. The best I have so far with our 09 gas engine, which had less than 2000 KM, so not broken in yet, was 55 MPG Imperial, which is 45.79 MPG US. According to the Canada ratings we should be able to get 65 MPG Imperial, which equals 54 MPG US. In the 05 diesel I beat the suggested rating by a few MPG. It's all in using the transmission shifting right. As an example, when I got 77 MPG, my wife would get about 60 MPG. The 09 gas is the same as the 05 diesel as far as when to shift. On a level road, not pulling onto a highway, shift from 1st to 2nd at 20 KMPH, which is about 12 MPH. Shift from 2nd to 3rd at 30 KMPH, which is about 18 MPH. Shift from 3rd to 4th at 40 KMPH and from 4th to 5th at about 59 KMPH. when you drive like this you will get better mileage. Now if you are pulling onto the highway you will have to go a little higher each time just to get up to speed a little faster.
