Our 08 cabrio that we have been caretakers of for just over a month has delivered mid 30's in mixed city/country driving. This is with about 550lbs of people inside(nice cozy fit). I drove it home from Indianapolis solo and got 44 mpg on that tank of fuel. It was interstate driving, passing the big boys with no problem.

How about posting a summary of the reports?

I usually get over 40 mpg in town, despite a lot of stop lights and stop and go, just by accelerating liesurly and backing off when I see lights changing ahead. Yeah, it puts me out of synch with the jackrabbit style of driving so common, and I get some nasty looks, but I end up getting there at the same time! And I often average 42mpg tankfuls.

I'll admit to driving with the traffic on Interstates, especially in long drives, and at the 75 mph only get about 35mpg.

Cheers, Bob in KCMO

Here is the average over 108 fill ups. Mostly full fill ups

I can claim my best was 49.1 MPG on a tank, but then I would be no better than all those that tell me their car gets ?? why should I get a smart. Chances are they got that magic number once and selectively chose to ignore all the times their vehicle got under 20mpg

I'm "big boned" and usually have my wife in the car as well, but I do have a favorable commute and don't drive it hard often (but sometimes)... My commute-only mileage since mid-March is hovering around 46 mpg.

Something must be wrong.....

I purchased my 2009 Cabriolet Passion in March 2010, with 297 miles on the odometer. I am now just over 900 miles. My commute to work is 1.5 miles each way, 6 days per week. I change gears manually, use 92 octane fuel without ethanol. A/C is on about half the time. MPG has been all over the board. Highest was 37 mpg and the current tank is 20 mpg. Only got over 30 mpg one time (the 37 mpg tank), but the range has varied 10 mpg at times. Also, my fuel gauge would not register a full tank for the first few tanks, would sit at 7/8 for days, then go to full for a day or so, then drop back to 7/8. Of course the gauge was at the full mark when I took it to the dealer, so they didn't see the problem. Any known issues? I am now taking it to the dealer since this tank has 3 of 8.5 gallons left and have only traveled 108 miles.

If your commute is only 1.5 miles each way,the motor has no time to warm up properly, gas mileage on anything will be poor.
