Worst Actual MPG!

Seems to be a lot of competition on here to squeeze the last mile out of a tank of gas.

Gotta be others on here like myself who couldn't care less. I bought the car for it's potential as a "gocart with a roof" and drive it accordingly.

So how about it, anyone else get crap mileage and proud of it.

car: 09 Brabus coupe
mods: iridium power plugs, H&R springs, EBC reds
driving style: sporting -- hard on the gas, hard on the brakes, manual shift mode only -- frequently let the car shift itself at redline and the ESP do the braking in the corners.
driving loop: almost 100% city, exclusively short trips, only on the freeway twice a day for 3 miles@ 85mph.

Well, I guess every superhero must have his nemesis. Sometimes it's fun to play the bad guy!

It looks like 34 has been my worst tank and that was probably a late pump shutoff, so you've got me beat! Out of 65 fill-ups, 12 have been less than 40 and 3 are less than 37.

In 22 fuel ups, my worst has been 30.9

In the worst conditions for mileage I was under 30 mpg. Car had under 1,000 miles on it, middle of January in Philadelphia, average trip was 7 miles. my average for the first 9,000 is around 37 mpg.

Over 50 tanks of fuel:
29.91 lowest MPG - February in Cleveland - lots of sitting in traffic
42.9 highest MPG - last November - probably lots of highway for visits to relatives over the holiday

I drive almost exclusively in the city. Don't avoid highways, but that's not my commute these days. No modifications to the 08 Passion coupe and no special efforts in the way I drive.

For me, the car is about the total picture, not just the mileage or, as I've said before, we'd all be riding light rail commuter trains or buses if we couldn't walk or ride a bicycle.

Added note: My Smart arrived when fuel prices were peaking last year and my monthly fuel bill didn't change - that is, my higher MPG and lower consumption offset the increased fuel price with no change in driving habits. Of course, now the overall cost is lower because fuel prices dropped. Just another way of looking at it.

Worst ever for me was 32.x two fills in a row coming across Kansas. I've said it before (you all are sick of hearing it), but I'll say it again: Kansas sucks (for gas mileage).

My overall average is 39.7. Not the best and not the worst (story of my life)

My worst? Ethenol fuel, (no choice, standard all over Saint Louis..) A/C on, Late July. Driving manual, like I stole it. 32 mpg. Still 10 mpg better than my sedan.. of which is highly neglected now.

Mine is pretty low...
Aside from a couple of highway trips I am getting 30 - 31 mpg consistently.

Now.. my "commute" is the absolute worst for MPG...
Only 2 miles each way.. 5 red lights and 6 stop signs..
Car never even warms up... SO I am happy with what I am getting.. so far mostly with the A/C on...

With my short commute.. I get almost 3 weeks out of a tank full of gas in my smart :-) ...
