I paid the $99 reservation on April 1, 2007 - my last 4 #'s are 1186 so your post caught my attention and thought I'd share.

Did my configuration 11/10/08, still waiting to hear from the Tulsa Smart Car Dealership. Called the 800 number a couple of weeks ago. They said calling the Dealership was a waste of time that checking with the 800 number staff was best as they would know first. Have not tried calling SMART again. I know of 5 in the OKC/Norman area now. I spoke to one of the new Smart owners on Friday, he has his "wrapped" as an advertisement for his restaurant, can't wait to see it and he said I could take a test drive. I drove one in Tulsa last October but anxious to drive the new version. He said he placed is original reservation in mid-March 2007.

Is your time line comparable to mine?

I'm the same here, 1186, placed on April 1, 2007, just got the 30 day notice from dealer last week, but he said it would be EARLY APRIL. so, not sure, but at least it ain't more than a month.

So that means you have been contacted by your dealership?

Have not signed on in awhile. I've looked around the site some and have not stumbled across this answer. When the dealership contacts you can you change color or adjust choices? Curious...second guessing my original choices.

Saunn, with your config on 11/10, my guess is that your car is probably built and may already be in the process of heading this way . You should see if you can get a VIN number from your dealer (or has anyone been able to get a VIN from the 800 number as well?) I'm sure when the dealer contacts you, the car has been built.

I just went back and pulled my Smart e-mail confirmation(s) on 11/10 and then again on 11/21, when I click the 11/10 link it still works but the 11/21 does. Point being - I changed colors. Hope my first choice is the one that stuck; if it really is or has been built This is an interesting journey and the dealers must be loving it...they seem to be in a no loose situation but we have to predict a year ahead what we wanted with no real test drive of the product. So Tulsa I know you may read this so take care of me when it's my turn.

What State are you in (other than the state of waiting)?
