Smart said from the beginning that we will receive our cars in the order of reservation. Unfortunately, the party line of the reservation # meaning nothing makes the dealers look and sound like MORONS, personnally I do not spend much time with morons. No personal affront to employee for they are doing as told. Problem arises when you have HUNDREDS of forum members confirming their reservation date and reservation #, and there is a direct correlation between the two, a rational person will make an admission that this is as it is. My suggestion is to convince employees, those who are trying to establish a relationship, so be it a sales relationship, that a honest trusting and open relationship will drive a better and long term customer experience.
However, with that said, we are now seeing a 90+ day deviation in invitations to configure, all dependent on dealer location. smart is trying to keep the "Its not fair that Mr Fairbanks Alaska got his before me in Kansas"...
Oh, I think I have spent to many days selling to PhDs where I can not (and would never dream of pulling the wool over their eyes. sorry for the rant.

1189 reservation on 4/4, configuration on 11/17...just talked to someone from smart. They told me my car was in transit! and to call the dealer for more info...that should give some reassurance to the 1190's

1192 reservation on 4/6 with configuration on 11/17. Not a word yet on delivery from the Dallas dealer.

Try calling smart directly. They might be able to give you more information. I called to see if they had more info on mine b/c people who reserved after me were getting the 30 day email notification. I call my dealer right after to get the vin but they hadn't received it yet. Smart couldn't tell me when it left Bremerhaven or the expected delivery date but at least it was a little more info. I recommend calling them...I configured my car the same day as you so it might be in transit too.

Thanks for the idea- I appreciate it. I called them this evening and after waiting two hours for the database to be repaired, they told me that my dealer will contact me when the car is thirty days away. Wow- that's new information. This is really getting tiring!

I'm still looking forward to getting the car, but I'm not sure how much of a smart advocate I'll be due to the lack of information from PAG. It's not like they don't have the database to at least let us know if our car has been built or shipped to the US. Whatever...

I'm an 1190... reserved on or about April 5, '07, and configured Nov. 21, '07. No email/call about my vehicle's status.

Reserved March 28, still no email, stopped by the dealer, and I am not lined up for Febuary. March it is (the glass is half full). Ah the sweet smell of spring is in the air.

Thanks for the update. I'm 1188 in NorCal and the only information from dealer is that I should hear something soon, maybe in two weeks.

Seems that location is having an effect on delivery order, but it hopfully it won't skew deliveries more than a few weeks.

I do not think that anyone will find a way to determine the delivery based upon the reservation and confirmation numbers without the vehicle load at their dealership. According to my dealer, PAG is trying to provide about an equal amount of cars to each dealership. Therefore, your reservation number maybe low but your dealer had a high number of lower reservations - result no car when someother dealer with a low number of early reservations is already into the higher reservation numbers. When you study the various threads at this site, I feel my dealer is right. All the talk about first come first served means only at your assigned dealer, not across the country.

Exactly, but the distribution of dealerships across the US, should distribute the deliveries abit as well. But don't be surprised if you see a 60 day variance when deliveries truly ramp up.
