I took delivery of my car today, at 4:15pm central ... it got hear last night ... they detailed it today ...

Fastest car purchase I ever made ... I was in and out in about 30 minutes .....

So far ... so cool ... 50 miles and counting

I called the smart dealer, asked them to prepare all the paperwork, told them I need to be out asap. Two hours prior, I called my bank, gave them the VIN and a copy of the Sales Contract .....

I wrote a check for the car, my bank was going to deposit the funds in my account to cover it ... I literally signed 4 pages ... and I was done. The longest piece was probably the "walk around" which I already knew everything anyways ... but I was letting the girl do her job .....

My credit union had a 4.99% rate promo going on .... so I just took advantage of it ...

In and out .... love it ....

I will post pics soon, going to have the tint done tomorrow or Friday ....

Hopefully, you will all get yours soon too ....

I forgot ... I did not buy any extended warranties, no extra accessories, as mine will probably be voided rather quickly if I get my Turbo setup going ... so I didn't bother ... plus, I really think for the price of the car, I'm not going to worry about it ....

Hey Factor9, any news on your smartie yet. I am wondering if your dealer has an update on what boat your car was on and if it is in one of the boats being unloaded today at the port of Long Beach. I live local in Socal and just ahead of your vin (mine is 12671X) and still waiting. Currently vacationing here in Hawaii and hoping to hear from my dealer soon before I come home next week. Anyway let me know any update.

Diego - Good to hear from you, and I hope you're having a blast in Hawaii! I have an email query into the Sacramento Center to find out the latest. Up to now, no change (yeah, our DDEs have changed a couple of times back and forth), and when canvassing other Sacramento reservation holders with VIN#s, 30-day notices and similar Res.#'s to ours, there isn't much that can be said. We're all "in the same boat!" If I hear anything, I'll PM you later. As you know, I'm leaving town next Monday, so we'll just have to swap positions! Enjoy paradise! I'm jealous! factor9
