1209. Smart called me.

But not because my car is here. I submitted a change to my configuration at the beginning of last week through email. I just received an email from Dave Schembri with a link to my updated configuration and not 5 minutes later did I receive a phone call from Smart confirming that they successfully updated my configuration. I originally configured at the beginning of December so to be able to change it so late in the game is interesting.

I asked them if this would delay my delivery and they assured me that it would not and that they were able to put the change in the system before my car was manufactured. Also, I asked when i might expect the call that my car has arrived and all they could say is probably "very soon" and maybe in "1 to 2 months". We'll see, I can't wait.

BTW, the change I made was remove the comfort package and change interior to red.

Good information and good choice on the red color and losing the comfort package!

How did you do that?? I tried several times before my car was manufactured and I got no help at all. I even wrote to customer relations at Penske

You must send an email to customer-service@ib-smart.net that says the following:

"I (your name here) authorize Smart USA to make the following changes to my configuration:"

Then just list what you want changed. It took about a week to get confirmation.

Here are the following reasons I decided against the comfort package:

1. $850 is a lot of money

2. With the leather seats, black interior is only option....my car will be black and I decided I wanted a red interior to break up the black.

3. No hockey puck

4. SoCal doesn't really need seat warmer....or rain sensing wipers for that matter....it is rarely raining nor is it cold.

5. I've decided I can turn my headlights on by myself like a big boy.

Yah Mark...I did that...I did that and I called and called and wrote to Penske.

Oh well. Working with different people.
