Well CruisingAZ, I guess we see now that DFW is further behind than the state of AZ for waiting. Though I did hear a 1228 in Burleson, Tx has configured.

Thats the problem with this whole number thing, we have no idea how many actual reservations are ahead of us, if the first one had been 0001 and so on at least we would know our real place in line.

It is possible that there are no reservations in a range of a week or so, highly unlikely but possible. I heard 1400 + reservation for AZ but they could all be behind mine, no way to know.

The confirmation number has to have something with the dealership and how many cars are being distributed. I confirmed on 2/1 with a res #1227. My dealer (assuming) is LaVista, NE. I would think that every dealer is given a steady flow of deliveries.

You are absolutely correct, since we do not know how many cars are reserved for our particular dealer and where we are on that list, we cannot know when our turn for configuation will come. It would be great if dealers had a list of all reservations assigned to them that they could look at and tell us how far down the list we were.

If we had that information along with the number of cars they get each month we would be able to guesstimate our waiting time.

I've spent quite a bit of time reading posts and have visited our local dealer several times trying to make sense of the reservation number vs expected delivery time. What I'm starting to think seems to be similar to what I'm reading tonight that your delivery date is probably more closely related to your configuration date than your actual reservation number because it does matter what part of the country you are in. I have a 1225 number and configured on Dec 21st in Seattle. The E-mail that notified me to configure stated that they "may" be able to deliver a car in the 2nd half of 2008, but that is likely some kind of boiler plate wording. Maybe the trick is to get more feedback from people on the time between configuring and delivery. I guess the shift linkage plus some dealers not being set up is also affecting current deliveries.

Just my thought.
