1300's Still waiting to Config.

Smart has to have something against Dallas. Months before the first
cars were delivered I red an article where Dave Schembri said
Dallas was one of the areas with the highest number of orders yet
Dallas has only one Dealer witch at one time was supplying cars as far away as Mississippi. Yet Houston has two dealers???
I thought the dealers would get equal amounts of cars but this doesn’t seem
to be the case since a couple of months ago at least two dealers up north
said they had delivered 300 cars. At that time if you divided the number
of cars delivered by the number of dealers it should have been 200 cars per
dealer. I check the forum daily to see if anyone in the Dallas area who
reserved near my reservation date has received a car. One person in the
Dallas area who reserved 11 days prior to me received his car July 3rd
at that time I thought it won’t be long now not the case I’m still waiting.
My DDE says 11/13/08-2/11/09 the dealer says my name is now on their
computer but no VIN number. I find it hard to believe that there were that
many reservations in the Dallas area in 11 days that if the dealers were
getting anywhere close to the same amount of cars I should have my car
long ago. It’s frustrating to look at the delivery thred and see people who
reserved months and even a year longer than you get their cars.

i agree with you Ken, especially when you take into consideration the smart centers in the NY/NJ area, where there are, it seems, TOO MANY centers based on the waiting time for their customers.

more than a couple in that area posted that they had 'reserved' their smart and had 'configured' within a month and taken DELIVERY within 8-9 months!

that is CRAZY!

BEFORE smart does anything else, they need to think about the redistributing of orphans to areas that have the longest wait times. this may help some of those people that have waited nearly a year just to 'configure' and are STILL 6 months or so away from taking delivery.

but it sounds like you are FINALLY seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. hope all goes well with your delivery, whenever that may be, and you can start enjoying that for which you have waited an eternity!
