Finally I have configured my Smart. I live in Michigan. Reserved Sept, 3 2007. Just a little FYI.

maybe but from what I have seen/read that the reservations depend on you area little more then your number.

I keep reading this as if it somehow makes sense that some areas get more cars faster than others or something?

Can you explain this to me?

I mean.... in a kind of cause/effect kind of way where I will say, "Oh, OK. That makes sense".

CONFUSED......today is March 25 2008, yet you say you 'configured TODAY September 3 2007. did you 'reserve' on September 3 2007 and were 'configured' TODAY? i'm still all new to this and i'm only trying to figure out when MY order will be 'configured'......

I reserved on Sept 3, 2007. I configured March 21, 2008.

Well think about it if they had 75% of there cars all in California, and the other 25% in the rest of the country it wouldn't make much sense for them due to no outside exposure (aka free advertising.) At least in my opinion. I could be completely wrong just my thoughts on it

I think it is to do with Load Balancing. Certainly in the first few months you need to send all dealers some cars so that they have some revenue stream and can keep the doors open, also it doesn't make sense to bury any dealer with more cars than they can handle, so the cars are spread out across the dealers in a way that is not necessarily in proportion with the number of orders the dealer has.
