The $99 thing was just market research where the market PAID for it.

Brilliant.

Just get on an orphan list. I reserved in October an saw not real change of getting my car this year. I signe dup for an orphan and have been offered four cars in two months. I just bought my car (Blue/Silver w/ Red interior) Passion Coupe yesterday and pick it up Thursday. The only thing missing from what I wanted was the comfort package. They do add dealer installed options onto most orphans. Mine had a 3M bra kit, floor mats & LoJack. I would have bought everything but the LoJack. At least we are getting optional equipment, not a second sticker like most dealers would have of high demand vehicles.

Tired of waiting.....

Do an internet search for a Toyota iQ. A new concept car that will be in production for 2009 with about approximately 100,000 units planned. This is Toyota's answer to the smart. If you're in the 1300's you may get one of these before a fortwo.

I will wait.

#1417 Reserved in Nov 2007. Still waiting to configure. San Francisco Bay Area of California

I first saw the smart in Greece back in 2005. Fell in love then.

I have waited this long, I will continue to wait. Just hope that I will not wait over 1 year.

It seems like the initial release of the cars had a few minor bumps with not all the dealers up and running, but this is a big company with lots of resources and a desire to make the car a success. So I would bet you will be getting a car sooner rather than later. My guess is the 1400's will not have to wait an entire year.
