They're sending config. notices for 1500's all over the place. Mine is 1457
in Mobile and still nada, zip, zilch, Dick Bupkis! It's getting close to the 'Gathering' for the few immortal M-Ms in town and I fear mine isn't going to be 'The One'.
A Yaris or a Fit are starting to look mighty good. I'm just sayin'...
Configured my 1423 reservation today! I already have an orphan, but I ordered this one with the idea of selling the orphan later and keeping the one I ordered.
Who knows, by the time it comes in, I may decide to be a 2 smart family.
1507, northern Indiana seems to be in the forbidden zone. No calls, no email, can't sqeak any info out of the DDE. Oh well, the dealership is nice to me and there is the emotional support here, I think we'll all need that.
I am 1539 in Houston. Since I missed my first deadline to configure by April 13, they extended my deadline to April 27. I configured last night. Interesting that they are being so cordial and fast. I haven't checked my new due date. I think I will right now.

Well, I find that news really interesting, kinda puts a big hole in the "computer glitch" theory posted elsewhere. Seems to me that if they knew there was a problem, they wouldn't be extending out due dates like that. Gives me hope that I may see my smart yet this year!
I checked and my new delivery date is July 2009 to September 2009. So it looks like my delivery date was delayed a year because of my 1 week configuration mishap. Oh well, the way things change with the Smart, you never know what might happen next. I am going to go to the dealer in Sugarland this weekend and look around...see what's happening.
I know someone that talked to Ben Thomas,Director of Southern Operations today and he stated that at one time the reservation numbers were being done in sequence but no longer. They are done in batches according to area, location, zip code etc.
I'm not sure what that means but I thought I would pass it on. I don't know how someone with a 1539 has configured their car and I'm sitting here with a 1394 not configured yet (and I live in the same region).
All I know is THAT THE SYSTEM IS NOT BROKEN (right?). I know, I know I'm suppose to be patienttttt and quietly waittttt!!! I'll go back and sit in my corner now.
