All I know is THAT THE SYSTEM IS NOT BROKEN (right?). I know, I know I'm suppose to be patienttttt and quietly waittttt!!! I'll go back and sit in my corner now.

LOL...I figured that my res # would have me configuring in October 08 at the earliest. So I just sat back to watch it play out. Imagine my shock finding the config offer.
FYI, my zip is 77006, middle of the city. Wonder how they are grouping us?

"1536" and 'holding'.........while i see many of you that reserved before me that have yet to configure, i also am seeing more and more AFTER me that have configured and have gotten a DDE several months before MY DDE date. all of this occurred AFTER my conversation with Bob Wilshaw of smart usa saying that 'many of those that have reserved were asked to configure due to a computer glitch'. like someone said, if that were the case, i would think that the 'glitch' would have been fixed OR the system shut down while a fix was implemented.
i only wish someone from s mart usa would come on this site and tell us EXACTLY how this damn thing works. after all, that's all we're asking....to be kept 'in the loop'. right now it appears many of us are being left OUT of the loop.....and seemingly being left out all together

oh, i'm actually being patient. it just concerns me that i see all these other fellow ' smarties' that are in the '1300s' that have yet to configure. at what point do you say; "OK, there's GOT to be something wrong with MY reservation?"
guess my point is that smart usa should state something like: 'you will be asked to configure within X days of your reservation. if you haven't been contacted within that time frame, please contact us IMMEDIATELY!'
seems reasonable to me.

First, I have to say I LOVE your new avatar ! Then I have to agree in part, that smartUSA should say SOMETHING! But, you have to remember that the reso number is NOT what determines when you config , it's a matter of balance also. They send more cars to the more heavily populated, higher demand locations and less to places like us . Oh well, that's life! Hang in there with me good buddy, we'll get ours; just have to wait .

.......and while i see your point, i was 'kind of' told just the opposite. that the reason they don't go specifically by reservation number is that they are trying to 'spread the wealth' so to speak and that they DON'T want all the cars to go to just a few 'higher demand' locations. i believe this to be true in that you see several of the lower reservation numbers coming from the same area of the country.....WEST COAST. Mr Wilshaw told me that when smart usa did their 'tour' from coast to coast, many people reserved right then. so at each stop, you have perhaps hundreds of people all wanting smarts. those of us that weren't fortunate enough to be on one of those 'stops' are being filtered into the mix, to distribute them more evenly across the US. it would be unfair for one dealer to have delivered 100 cars in 2 months and another dealer to only have delivered 10. all the dealers are supposedly getting the same amount of deliveries to keep everything in balance.
so i'm told anyway.....
