Received my VIN on 08/08. It was loaded onto the ship on 08/04 or 08/05. Boat got to the US coast on ~ 08/17.
DDE has said 08/04/08 - 11/02/08 for a couple weeks now.
My dealer is giving me ETA of first week of Sept, so it should be here shortly.

Got email for 1459 on 8-20-08, configure web site is down, call Smart, they are aware and said it may take a couple of days to get it back on line. I have tried 4 times, each time including a couple of minutes ago, it was still down. Smart customer assist said they would extend the deadline for configuring based on non availability of configure website. This will be my 2d Smart, actually taking delivery depends on the market for my current Passion when the new one get here. It should be a 2009, I may just let it go to someone on the orphan list, or sell mine and take it. Lots of time to decide.

the "Configurator", for those invited to do so, is DOWN until August 25th, at which time it will have the 2009 models, colors and options from which to choose.

Yeah, I asked my dealer and they were able to look it up for me and forward it via email. Using the VIN allowed me to find the ship it was on and then track that.
