Any new configurations taking place?

I called SmartUSA and asked if I had gotten lost in the system, with all the later configurations taking place. I talked to a guy named Rance(sp?) and gave him my info (#1302, reserved July 26, '07). His next words were, "Hmm, you certainly should have been invited by now". Then I told him where I came from and he said "Aha..." Reading between the lines in what he said, I'll tell you all that the reservation date has very little to do with your invitation to configure than your location and the number of reservations in your area. I'm into the 10th month of waiting and of course he could not say that it would be in the next couple weeks. I'm sure I am the only reservation in my zip code, my county, and perhaps my whole state that reserved in that time period. He said the invitation could come as early as the next couple weeks or it could be in the next two months. looking at it from a pollyannish viewpoint, I guess it's been a long time since I held an endurance record...!

Hang in there Jimbo I'm in the same boat. I received the same reply from SmartUSA as you, but in a email. I'm in the Dallas area with a August 24 2007 reservation #1321 and no Config in sight. By the way what date and year did your DDE come up with. Mine is July-Sept 2009.

Mine said Mar-May 2009. I about came out of my chair when I first read that, but I guess I can stand it. Hey, anybody worrying about the price of gas might become a cheerleader for these guys at http://www.hytechapps.com. I think they may be on to something.

I reserved EIGHT MONTHS before ladcad and FOUR MONTHS before you ....
My DDE is also the same

Get ready to cry: A friend reserved Apr 20, 2008 and her DDE is July - September 2009.

The DDE was broken last month, they fixed it, but the dates seem to be frozen now.

I wouldn't put too much stock in it until you get to the last 4 months (sorry).

As one who has been waiting since last April and expected the car (optimially, based on my tracking at the dealer) to arrive last Friday, I can tell you the way I have dealt with it:

From the time to reservation to the time of configuration I pretty much forgot about it. They called me to make sure I had the configuration email, I confirmed (to myself) I wanted the car still and completed the order.

From the time of Configuration (12/07) to the announcement the dealerships would open I mostly forgot about it but wondered where I was in line. Found this site, and others, and read delivery posts. Then in March I got excited thinking the car might be delivered by the one year anniversery; decided what accessories I wanted to buy and started purchasing.

From the date I got the 40 day notice of delivery and VIN to now I have stopped by the dealer's lot weekly to check VIN deliveries so I might project my date better, received items I had ordered, and generally driven my family and friends crazy with my anticipation.

The whole trip has been fun, at times frustrating to tears, and an exercise in patience. (I am still waiting by the way.)
