When we configured our car we didn't really get the feeling that a car was actually being built for us, the email left us under the impression that we would get a choice of cars coming in based on when we made the reservation and not what we configured. I've narrowed down the text in the email that gave us this idea:
"As vehicles become available, an authorized smart USA dealer will receive your vehicle preference information and will contact you to work out the details of your purchase agreement and arrange for delivery. "
So, is that wrong? Were cars built on these configurations and being delivered to those that configged them for certain or is it more first come first serve from the pool of Smarts? We pretty much expected a dealer to call us with what was available and give us a choice when we read that since the ordering process did not give us a VIN when it goes into production (or notice before it does to allow for changes) as has been the process when ordering other cars from the factory.
Honestly if it had been stated more clearly I think we might have done things a little differently (like perhaps reconsider going 'vert), but I'm sure we'll be pleased with our loaded Passion
Are we the only ones who were confused by the process and statements made? Just curious.
