Car is on its way

First post. Reserved mid April 2007, configed in Nov. 2007.
According to our dealer the car is on a ship to the US.
We will pick it up in Pittsburgh (from central PA). So - about
a year from res to receiving. Red/black pure.

Have only seen one smart in this area so far - a blue/silver pure

Just be prepared. That first communication is letting you know that your car will get on a boat in 30days. It then traverses the great Atlantic, then hits harbour, then customs, then trucked to dealership. 45-90 days. Expect 90.
Congrats!! Mine came into Baltimore last week and is on a truck right now!

It only took 2-1/2 weeks from my 30 day notice for it to reach the east coast. My guess is it is closer than you think

I received a call last week, this week I got the VIN Number, tracked it and it is due to arrive in Baltimore on 4/6, so unless there are any delays it should be here soon.

When I checked the data for the ship, there were 611 smart vins listed. There are also guys on a couple of BMW boards tracking their cars on the same ship

Remember, if you're not getting your car via Baltimore this won't work for you. Where is City by the Lake?

Must be for the 1 Series.. DROOL!! That is the next BMW I will purchase.
