Configuration to delivery time?? Maybe sooner??

I placed my on-line order on 10/24/07 ,then got an e-mail from smartusa to configure mine on 2/1/08 ,I printed the information ,I had a very quik pop up message saying the car would be available in the 2nd half of 08 ,but what I've read on a few web sights is that the 1st orders placed have a long period of time between the on-line order and the configuration them my order, my number was 1392 ,would anyone like to guess?

For those who did final configurations in November, I advise you to call smart headquarters. I reserved 4/4 and configured 11/17. I didn't receive any email from smart since the configuration confirmation. When I called they said my car had been shipped and I got the vin # from my dealer. My car is due to arrive in Baltimore on the 16th. Smart might have some information, they just didn't give it to you.

Following all related posts as best I can here in this regard since Sept., I'm hoping for late Apr or early May delivery. Again, a lot depends on your location. Some areas have many more reservations to deal with and others were too slow getting their facilities up and licensed etc. My #1321 confirmed Feb 1st also.

Most also believe that this process may speed up a bit now that most of the dealerships are up and running as well as the dreaded smart computer system!

I dont think Ive ever waited as long for any car I've owned ,I love my mercedes ,I waited 2 months for it .just not used to waiting months for a car

I can see you have never purchased a Ferrari before. The new 430 is at least 2 years out. Even trying to get one of the new Rocker Harley is close to impossible for the 2008 model year. And for those who are trying to buy a light jet, you have to put out a large some of cash just to get in a line greater than 5 years long.

Now the smart car is no where near as expensive but it is just as special. So the wait is worth it.

I configured mine in November and haven't heard anything from the dealer yet. The lease on my current car is up at the beginning of June and I want to make sure my car will be in by then, but not too much before that.

I reserved last March and configured in November and haven't heard a peep since then. My local dealer is also the national distribution headquarters. Maybe I'll just give them a call. I can't even figure out what my reservation number is. I don't see a number in any of my e-mails that sounds like the numbers people have mentioned in this forum.

What sort of 'magic' did you use? The rep did confirm what I ordered on their system, who my dealer was but no additional info (I'm an 1188, resv 4/3, confirm 11/9) was available 'at this time, wait to be contacted by your dealer'
