I just got my email from Mr. Schembri this morning. I was so excited I almost peed myself.
Anyhow, I put down my $99 on 7.16.07 and I live in Downtown Los Angeles. My reservation number ends in 1292.
I'm guessing about four or five months until I see my car? My Mazda's lease isn't up until the end of July, so I'd prefer the Smart show up around then so that I don't have to store two cars and the motorcycle in one parking space!
Good luck to everyone waiting for their confirmation email!
Getting close to 1337!!!! Congrats guys!
Just Checked.....I got the email today!!!! Just configured a fully loaded Silver on Black Passion!!! One step closer!!!!

Does anyone know how the decision is made on which dealer I get stuck with?
If it's strictly distance, I'm three miles closer to the Beverly Hills store than the Universal City (North Hollywood) store, but they're in different directions.
I visited Beverly Hills Mercedes-Benz last week figuring that they're likely my dealer given the proximity to my home. The staff were courteous and enthusiastic, although having the Smarts next to the Maybachs was quite the juxtaposition!
The BMW dealer that runs both the MINI and Smart dealers in Universal City has, in my experience, been filled with some of the most pretentious, self-righteous pricks I've ever met in my life. I've tried to buy both a 325i and a Cooper S in that joint, and both times left there wanting to mow down the staff that "helped" me with the respective car I was trying to buy.
I'd rather not make the 6 o'clock news running down the finance manager at Universal City BMW/MINI/Smart :-)
Ask the BH guys if your zip code fits in their territory. Redondo Beach and the rest of the South Bay has been assigned to Laguna Niguel until the Torrance dealer is built. Although there is not Rhyme there is Reason to the assignments. Good Luck,

Have you configured/confirmed yet? PAG will know where your dealer is. Call them. Be aggressive if you want a particular dealer. Some forum members have changed dealerships based upon their desires. It does help to speak up.
Funny your impressions at smartUC were exactly mine during a recent visit. One fellow was particular obnoxious. Good luck with your dealership hunt.

There's one guy who seems like a dud, but another (didn't catch his name, but I'll probably visit again soon) who was totally amped about the car and a lot of fun to talk to. I'm hoping to work with him when my car comes in.
I confirmed in Dec 07' (Reservation April 07') patiently waiting for my car... It is a little frustrating that we cannot get any answers from Smart other than you will be contacted once it arrives.
I met someone the other day in Brea that got his car... he told me his reservation was done in June 07' I find that to beleive but makes me wonder if they are following in order of reservation.
By March we are all supposed to know what exactly is going on. Thats what the email stated anyway. I'm confirmed and would love to know exactly when my car is jumping the pond.
Congrats on getting your invite. I'm wondering how this all works since i reserved on 6-29-07 and have a #1275 I'm new to this site and have probably missed the reason or the how it works. Thanks Rick
