Since those now being contact shouldn't expect delivery for several months, it may be load balancing between dealerships and the number of orders each one has. The distribution of reservations over time is not equal (more from tour cities one weekend for example). They could be making sure that a dealer doesn't get a slug of deliveries all for one month that they can't handle while another dealer would be left dry for a few weeks.
