I'm afraid I have to agree with spdickey. There has been information just not the specifics that everyone wants. Either you want the car or not or you are upset because you can't line up at 5 am 2 weeks in advance to get one. Calm down. The car will be exactly the same on May 5th as it will be January 1. There are more important things in our lives than this car when most of us already have a car as it is. Bottom line is nobody here really NEEDS one. 2008 is right around the corner and most of those with a lot to vent about are so early on the reservation listing. When you early reservers get your vehicle, please post pictures for those of us that have a really long wait still ahead of us.
Please have someone contact me with a valid phone number to confirm my reservation which was made in April. SmartUSA has called me twice and left a message with invalid 800 phone numbers to call back on to do this. Each time the caller told me I had until December 12th. I need a phone number please?!? This is getting irritating. I have my confirmation number which is 8431211204, made back in April 2007. Why do the people calling not have a valid 800# to call back on? Please respond.
Thank you spdickey. Any information I just posted is already posted on the internet and in any phone book. I will try and contact them now again, I emailed them from that site. I came to this site to get a phone number. I really really appreciate it.
By my method of reckoning, when the email confirmation/configuration process stopped with #1207 at COB on Friday, 30 NOV, they (IB) had C/C’d +/- 10,750 reservations. That is easily over a third, maybe close to a half, of the year’s worth of deliveries. Stopping the email process now and getting organized to dole out the good C/Cs already in hand to the dealers will in no way impact the actual dealer process of signing a purchase and sales agreement and having a car ordered; they have plenty of time to get to a 23 APR reservation. If #1208 doesn’t hear from his/(her) assigned dealer until 12 DEC, that does not mean that the car will ultimately be 12 days late for delivery and drive away.
I’m betting that the next form of contact will now be from the assigned dealer, well with time enough for an orderly process. At that point all of the jumping up and down about what number in the national mass is being invited to C/C will be OBE and meaningless. The only thing that then makes any kind of sense will be what reservation date each individual dealer will be working with in his pile.
Actually the May cars will be even newer in May than the January ones. Wow, new cars, don't you love them!
Hadn't thought of that. You're a clever one. So if I never take deliver of one, it will always be newer than what everyone else has purchased AND I'll have 14K extra to boot!
Nah ... not falling for that just yet. I do hope that I don't have to wait unit Q4 2008. My dealership is coming along very nicely though. I'll soon be able to harass those folks about everything we can't get answered here.
"Reservation" does not always mean "securing and holding some thing for someone". It can also be used as a word for a specific reluctance such as "I have one reservation about this" or as a word for a place where Native Americans live.
The good news about this is that the next time the matride at a fancy restaurant ask if you have reservations you can pop back with one of two jokes.
A. "Yeah, but we'll eat here anyway."
or
B. "That not funny white man, this land belong to us first!"
Since my great great grand dad's name was Red Cloud, I think "A" is a little funnier but it really doesent matter because most matrides are too distracted to get either of them.
